AT&T Outage ......Again and again and again and again!!!
I called AT&T about an hour ago. They hadn't received any other calls from this area. Service should be back up this afternoon (maybe).
If your service is out for any amount of time, you all really need to call.
Oh......and I got another credit!

Marie, I've lost AT&T's customer service number from the last time I called. Would you be so kind to post it? Thanks, Beth

Cell phones are out again!! Outrageous, it happens every weekend and worse!! Something has to be done! We all need to get after this through the PSC! Here is a link to the site you post complaints on, our common complaint should be that: Our cellular service from ATT shuts down nearly every week and greatly inconveniences the public both from a business standpoint but public safety as well. ATT should be made to correct this situation immediately! This is a cellular complaint and not residential.

Thanks, Richie. I filled out their form and am giving serious thought to switching to some other company. We've had company this summer who use Verizon and it worked for them. I'm certainly not happy with the service from AT&T and with the fact that they aren't "even" with the discounts when there are outages (every weekend). Some get their whole bill credited while others get only $5 or nothing. It's not right.
ATT Outage
Thank you Marie and Richie. I called AT & T to complain AGAIN..third time this week...I called last sunday when we were out, called Wednesday and again today. I didn't get anywhere with a credit (as they gave me a full credit last month for the outages) but was able to at least give my complaint. Richie, I went to the link you posted and filled out the form. Thanks.

I also called AT&T yesterday around noon. At that time I was told service would be restored later in the day....NOT. When I spoke with them they said they'll call me when service is restored and let me know how much of a credit I'll receive.
I've just completed the form on the link that Richie provided above. The more people complain, the more they'll listen and take these complaints seriously. Filling out the form is effortless.

complaint form
Thanks Rich for posting the link to the Public Services Commission complaint form. I submitted a complaint earlier today and have already received a return call from the Commission. Don't know if it will lead anywhere but I would encourage everyone to fill out and submit a complaint. It' possible that enough of a response from the community may make the Public Services Commission bring up the issue with AT&T. Getting a credit for one day or one month just isn't enough of a bother for AT&T to correct the matter.

Just spoke with a representative from the Public Services Commission. For background, by State statute the Commission cannot regulate wireless communication service providers. However, the representative stated that he has heard from others on the Island and will gather up the complaints and forward to AT&T as a complaint from the Commission even though it does not necessarily have much weight. Keep submitting your complaints through the link provided above, it can't hurt anything.

Here is a web site on who/how to complain about cellular service.

Specifically:
Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
If you have a complaint regarding your cellular service and you do not receive satisfactory resolution from the company, you can file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC does not handle contractual disputes or violations of state deceptive advertising laws (file these complaints with state attorneys general). The FCC forwards electronic and mail complaints to the service provider and directs the company to respond back to the Commission and the consumer within 30 days.
In order to file the complaint, consumers must submit:
· their contact information,
· the names of all companies involved in the dispute,
· the names of company representatives contacted, and
· the dates of correspondence with the company.
Consumers are also encouraged to maintain documentation of the billing or service problem.
The FCC accepts complaints by mail, telephone, fax, email and its online complaint page.

My daughter went to Beaver Island last Saturday with 5 friends and they rented a house on Lake Michigan. (we are from the Detroit suburbs) I talked to her right before she left Charlevoix on the ferry, but have not heard from her since. We have AT&T cell phone service. I am assuming it is still not functioning and that is why I can't get ahold of her. As a parent, I am of course a little worried, although I am trying not to be.
