Re: Time to pull the plug?
I have been on the forum for over 11 years and I still check it almost daily. It is one of the few ways for people to stay in touch with what goes on when you are away from the island. Might you suggest a better source? Beaver Beacon?
Re: Time to pull the plug?
Good Morning,
For those of us who do not subscribe to Facebook's invasive data sharing (he company also shares information with third parties, such as advertisers, to personalize ads and sponsored content based on user interests, actions, and connections. While Facebook states it does not sell users' personal information, it collects extensive data from various sources, including device signals, location information, and user interactions, to build detailed profiles for advertising), The Beaver Island Forum provides clutter free access to Island info. Thank you for providing this free service. I only wish the community would provide more information and content for its users. Thanks again!

Personally, I wholeheartedly support the forum and would hate to see it go away. It’s a great tool for selling thing, keeping the community informed, and announcing events and the like. The discussions seem to get out of hand sometimes, but that could be handled with anreasonable set of clear guidelines and enforcement by an impartial moderator.

'Beaver Island, MI This and That' private forum Facebook page is the main one. There's also a 'Beaver Island Michigan Curious' public Facebook page.SKATINGFAMILY wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 2:33 pm I have been on the forum for over 11 years and I still check it almost daily. The Beacon is only published bi-annually. I would suggest subscribing to the online version of the Nothern Islander and you can see all prior editions.
