Congratulations Brenda!
looking forward to your opening. Would it be possible to put your general menu on line?

have you considered fresh caught Golden Bones special for our European visitors? :D
seriously, opening a restuarant is a big investment in time, money and especially energy...Wishing you all the good fortune you deserve for your great efforts.
If we do not all hang together,
we will all hang separately,

It was once the Old Rectory restaurant, right across from the Holy Cross Cemetary

John, the name is Brenden Martin, not Brenda.
The Martin family has done an enormous amount of work to open the Circle M. Congratulations and best wishes for success to the family. The Island and it's visitors will appreciate the efforts to provide another adventure on the island.

Does anyone know the origin of the name,"Circle M"? I know it was the Circle M when I came to the island but then it became the Old Rectory if I am correct.

The Circle M was opened by Jack and Eileen Martin (not related to the Island Martin's) in the 60's. In the early 70's it was sold to Bob and Lil McGlocklin and the name remained the same. I believe it was sometime in the early 90's that it became the Old Rectory. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

I've been there twice already - once on Saturday and once tonight! Both times I was very pleased with the service as well as the food and the prices. What really sold it for me was the atmosphere. It's family owned and family operated and the set up is very fun. When I heard Edward playing tonight - I was so happy to hear him sharing his music once again! It's a true island place run by true islanders.

My favorite thing about the "old" Circle M, were the smorgasbords... and the Sunday brunches.... except on days I was doing dishes in the kitchen!!! :) Good times, great memories.

I really hope the Circle M thrives under the new management!!!

(Is there anyone who lives/lived on the Island that didn't work at the Circle M at one time in their lives??? :) )
