Beaver Island Michigan

Hi,

I'm looking for the ancestors of John Jonas Rousseau Sr. who was born on 17 May 1875, in Beaver Island, Michigan.

He died on 25 January 1950 at an unknown location to me.

He may have been raised on or near the Red Cliff Reservation in Wisconsin.

He married a Susan Morrison. She was born on 21 January 1891 and died on 17 September 1954 at unknown locations to me.

Could someone interested or knowledgeable in genealogy possibly help me in my research.

John Jonas Rousseau Sr. 's father was Charles Rousseau who was born around 1830 somewhere in Canada and possibly in Quebec.

He married a Charlotte Martin who was born around 1832-34 in Wisconsin or Michigan.
Her father may have been a Solomon Martin born around 1797 somewhere in Canada.

In the 1880 Michigan-Mackinac- Hendricks Census, Charles was 50 years old and Charlotte was 47.
They had four children: Antoine, Joseph, Charles and John.

Hi Andy,

I found some info on Charlotte Martin on Ancestry.com. She was the daughter of Soloman Martin and born in 1833 in St. Ignace, Mackinac, MI. Solomon was the fifth child of Antoine Martin Dit Soud and Suzanne Kinioca-Kenikwe. Antoine was a soldier at the Fort in Mackinac.

They are listed as part of the Arick-Senecal family by someone named marianne666@earthlink.net.

I'll be happy to print out and send what I have found. Let me know.
