Treatment for phragmites on the island's beaches began today, Sept. 12 and will continue all week. Please keep your pets off the beaches for at least 24 hours after treatment.

You probably already know this, but there are some on our beach. I cut the purple seed heads off and burned them so they are not as easy to spot. Thank you for treating them.
