This 8 hour/week job is completely funded by a 5-year Grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Education. Char Em ISD is the administering body for the grant.

Job Description:
Beaver Island Community School is seeking to employ an individual who will serve as a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Program Activity Leader (PAL).  Teaming with the other PAL, this position will assist in facilitating the 21st CCLCâ??s after school programs. The position will be approximately 8 hours per week. The PAL will be in attendance, supervising staff and students during all assigned program hours. 
 
Education and Qualifications:
Must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer a person with BA in a â??child related fieldâ?￾, i.e.: Early Childhood, Elementary or Secondary Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Child/Youth Development, Child Guidance/Counseling, Child Psychology, Family Studies, Social Work, or Human Services. Will train and help person attain any requirements. Experience with supervision and curriculum development and/or special needs preferred.

Responsibilities:
-Run an â??Activity Roomâ?￾ for various ages when needed during program hours.

-Work with other PAL in seeing that the check-in, snack, and check out processes run smoothly and monitor hallways while sessions are running.

-Aide students with special needs in their program sessions.

-Monitor staff and volunteers.

-Assist in managing the recruitment and retention of students.

-Support the Site Coordinator in ensuring that the program has a posted schedule and daily written lesson plans with staff assigned to specific duties.

-Support the Site Coordinator in maintaining all staff/ student attendance, enrollment records, and ensuring that all records are up to date in the statewide evaluation system (EZReports and YPQA)

-Attend all mandatory meetings, conferences and trainings including a multi-day Michigan After School conference in May.
