May 27th Contra Dance!

Come enjoy traditional music and dance with us! Sunday May 27th, 7:00 to 9:30 pm at St. James Episcopal Church. Live music by the Cut Finger Band (Cynthia Pryor- fiddle; Bob Pryor- Banjo; Stan Jensen- Guitar; Patrick McGinnity- Bodhran), and caller Pat Reeser. 
Contra is a social dance that one can attend without a partner. The dancers form couples and the couples form sets in long lines starting from the stage and going down the length of the dance hall. Throughout the course of a dance couples progress up and down these lines. The dance is led by a caller who teaches the sequence of figures in the dance before the music starts. Family friendly- all ages, and skill levels welcome! No charge, but donations are appreciated to help cover costs.
