Thank you Joyce, maybe a donation drive would be in order for this project. Not something I am capable of doing but sure I could fork up money to support it.

Can Don Vyse bring all of us up todate on what has happened since the lighthouse became property of St. James Township in 2004 and what the plans or next steps are?

I think the engineerning report was due back to the Township in 2009 and the fund raising plan was to begin, but I could be wrong.

I have been informed by the Executive Director of GLLKA that the Light House Committee will hold a public meeting at the St. James Township Hall, at 1:00 p. m., March 12, 2011. The meeting announcement is to be in both the Island publications, also.

Up to date information will be given and questions answered.

All interested persons should make the effort to attend.

There is an address for donations. Send them to St. James Township, c/o Whiskey Point Lighthouse Fund, POB 85, Beaver Island, Michigan 49782.

There may soon be a PayPal donation link on the Internet also.
