I agree Cathy and i think sometimes we are too open armed and maybe we should be the ones asking questions!!
One thing to remember about BI, we are open, and we are armed.

"Lastly, if ever needed, some sort of internet tracking of forum posters of the SKM type should be possible by the administrators of such forums."
Come on now Jeff - we all know you can do it. Where is this Sid person posting from - Report Please.

It might be interesting Jeff to see where Mr. Stephen C. West is posting from. Since joining the forum on April 1, 2009 he has posted 136 times. (in about 120 days) 126 of the posts were made between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays. The rest of the posts (10) were made on Saturday mornings between 10 am and 12:30 pm. I sure hope Stephen C. West is retired and is using his home computer as those hours seem to coincide pretty closely with normal business hours. Report Please.[/quote]
Seems we have a modern day witch hunt on our hands thanks to SKM. I do recall in an early post someone questioning if Woodrow was with SKM? I notice Woodrow joined three days after SKM, with some credit due for divulging his where abouts. Are any of us really where we say we are??? Think about that one. In Mr. West's defense...he is a respected member of the Beaver Island Community !!

cathyg you are right on target. Mr. West is not retired and works hard in the Chamber office 6 days a week. If he says he was there when posting to the forum then he was there! Why should we waste our time searching for his where abouts?
If it were my ship, Woodrow and SKM would be taking a long walk off a short plank.

Sorry foks,
This guy's gobbly-gook just doesnt check out.
If those folks across the pond, over in the United States want to conduct some sort of intergenerational crap bags study , perhaps they should study the Bushes, or the Clintons or the Kennedys or the Udalls or the Romney or the Coumos or the Rockefeller families.
Guard yourself here, NOTHING good will come of this condensending person's line of Crap...
I would suggest telling him(or her) to go take a flying F*%^#.
NOTE: presenting this opinion and $2.50 you will receive a Daddy Franks Ice Cream

Hey you, I said "United States" first!! And, Sidney, after much consideration, you really should take a powder, too many people have seen through the scarf!!!

".........many people have seen through the scarf!!!"
Could it be a burka?
Jeff & Richie,
Mr. McBain apparently has a problem with my politically incorrect attempt at humor and slap at Sid. If you think it's "wrong" please delete the complete post.
Thanks,
Steve

West - I try not to comment too much on this forum (it is for islanders and I am not one), but after that one I have to ask: Where are you even going with that question?

Mr. West has obviously taken the privious administrations efforts to
be alert for all suspicious activity to heart.
I am some what alarmed that he is using the axiom of " Not all burka wearers are associated with terrorists, but all terrorists are associated with burka wearers", considering all the rumours swirling here locally about the activities of BIRA.

We still find Beaver Island an interesting case study, however, enough is enough. We conduct conflict research but draw the line at threats of "armed" hostility. Our team has made a management decision to focus our grant supported research elsewhere.
Thank you to those who did support our efforts to select Beaver Island for a possible research study location.

"......threats of "armed" hostility.........."
Ive read some crazy stuff on line in the last decade but You just won the all time over the top award!
"Our team has made a management decision to focus our grant supported research elsewhere."
Now there is a wise move. Come for a visit under your real name and find out what a friendly place this is when folks are not being "studied." Best wishes from Beaver Island.
