Hello friends,

Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl going to the bathroom? The answer will follow this Charlevoix County Commission on Aging on Beaver Island announcement.

At 1 p.m. on April 28, 2023, at the Beaver Island District Library the Charlevoix County COA on Beaver Island is partnering with the Beaver Island District Library and elementary school students from the Beaver Island Community School to bring the Reading Pals program.
Reading Pals Day at the library is a program where senior community members and children gather and read together. Reading Pals provides a forum for conversation between the students and their senior reading companions for a friendly, fun time as they open their books and start to read. Refreshments and light snacks will also be served. Call 231-448-2124 to sign up for this event. This program will be canceled if there is no interest.

Veteran Social Days return at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Beaver Island Community Center. Veterans come and enjoy great conversation, touch base with a Charlevoix County Veteran Affairs representative, enjoy beverages and snacks, plus receive a free C.O.A. meal voucher. Beginning in May, only veterans attending the social will receive a meal voucher. No more veteran meal vouchers will be issued after the social.
Bingocize, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi will be hosted at Peaine Township Hall. Check the township hall calendar for dates and times or call 231-448-2124 for more information.
