Q: When will fiber internet service be available to serve my home or business?

A: Members in the Petoskey service district will be the first to receive service through the pilot project. We expect they could begin subscribing to fiber internet service as early as the end of 2018. (The Petoskey service district covers Emmet County, small parts of Charlevoix and Cheboygan counties and Beaver Island. See map below.) Construction begins in July 2018 with completion anticipated in 2020 or sooner. Construction involves stringing fiber optic cable to our poles.

From talking to their internet division they are hoping to deploy to the island in the next 9 months and the whole island completed by 2020 with state of the art high speed internet " It will knock your socks off "
