NATIONAL ANTHEM LECTURE: On Saturday August 2, there will be two opportunities to hear a special lecture about the history of the Star Spangled Banner by UM Professor Mark Clague, whose has conducted research on our national anthem. Copies of Dr. Clagueâ??s CD on the anthem will be available for purchase.

TENT-SATIONAL STAR SPANGLED EVENING: On Saturday evening, August 2nd at 8:00 PM, the Baroque on Beaver Festival will present its first outdoor performance, a Star Spangled Evening at Whiskey Point, featuring the Festival Orchestra and Chorus. The repertoire will be all-American orchestral and choral music to launch the national celebration of the Star Spangled Bannerâ??s bicentennial. The performers will be seated on a raised stage in a tent, and over 250 chairs will be available on the lighthouse lawn.
Presentation of Colors: At 7:45 pm the Beaver Island Veterans group will present the colors.
Veteran? B-on-B has set aside limited seating (rows 2 and 3) for veterans and families.
Special Needs? Special Needs seating and parking are available. For seating locations, ask a volunteer usher and handicap parking is available adjacent to the lighthouse for only those vehicles that display a disability parking permit/hangtag or disability plate
Parking: Because of limited parking at Whiskey Point and adjacent areas, a van shuttle service will be offered from the Gregg Fellowship Hall parking lot. Pick-up times: 7:00 pm; 7:15 pm; 7:30 pm and 7:45 pm. Returns begin at 9:45 pm and depart every fifteen minutes, with the last shuttle scheduled for 10:30 pm. Weather: Whiskey Point can be cool, bringing along a sweater may be a good thing . In case of rain this concert will be held at Holy Cross Hall.
Lawn Chairs: Additional room will be available for those who choose to enjoy the evening on their own lawn chairs or blankets.
