Invasive Species Field Trip and Workshop

We've had a few changes in attendance for the Invasive Species Field Trip and Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, July 17,2013. If you would like to join us on Wednesday for a portion or all of the day, please see the information below:

10 a.m. Field Trip. Learn to identify the most damaging invasive plant species on Beaver Island. Meet at the Gillespie Park in town. Wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray. Bottled water will be provided.

We will break for lunch at 12:30 p.m.

2 p.m. Jackie Pillete from the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians will present Plants of Cultural Significance at the Community Center as part of Museum Week.

3-4 p.m. Meet at the Beaver Island Community School for an instructional workshop by Phyllis Higman with the Michigan Natural Inventory Features on using the Midwest Invasive Species Information Network.
