Please join us for a Memorial Service honoring the 30th Anniversary of the drowning accident that took the lives of
John Paul Kenwabikise,

I can't believe it's been 30 years since the tragedy. My mom died that July and we were still suffering the loss of her when we received a call from the Island telling us they were looking for the boys...will never forget that day.
I hope everyone plans on attending the Memorial tomorrow to pay tribute.

I had the VERY sad job of transporting the boys from recovery and eventually to the graveside.............NOTHING rocks you more than what occurred those 30 years ago. They were such good kids and they were so full of life but focused on how a nickel was made, that's why they left the harbor that day and oh what a day and a week and a month it became =======and now 30 years.
