Abraham LincolnÂ

Â Â Â Fondly do we hope - fervently do we pray - that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet if God wills that it continue, until all the wealth piled by the bond-man's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with a sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. "Â

Yes, historically, it is alway good to mention that "God is on our side " in every war....
Abe was a great politician and a very eloquent speaker, dealing with a very unpopular war, high deficit war spending, a polarized electorate, the idea that Federalism would prevail over state's rights, and the issues of race...

Meanwhile, on the other side of that war.....

I meant no disrespect for the forum moderators but there seems to be a select few who want to pin a badge on themselves and decide who and what can be posted on the forum.
