Re: THEFT OF CAMPAIGN SIGNS!

Were these sings on private or public land? I know if they were on my property I'd be kinda angry. Public land for that is just that, public. Maybe keep your signs on your property. If they were on your property than you have a reason the complain and be angry. If not, too bad so sad.

Re: First Time Tent Camping

https://www2.dnr.state.mi.us/publications/pdfs/huntingwildlifehabitat/sga/Beaver_Islands_SWRA_map.pdf Great resource in the link. Just bear in mind there are rules and regulations to follow, like everywhere in the world. Sometimes the rules seem to not matter to some who visit. Have fun, enjoy and b...

Re: First Time Tent Camping

I own property there and spend many weeks on the island in the summer so you did get insight from someone who has spent a lot of time on the island. I'm 61. My father was born there and I've been going there for a lot of those 61 years. Like I said, it's not a national park where you are free to roa...

Re: First Time Tent Camping

Beaver Island is not a national park, it's an island with many year round residents that live on private land. Maybe contact the chamber of commerce and ask them? I wouldn't go around hiking and setting up a tent.

Re: Fireworks

That's good to know fireworks are not permitted on the ferry or plane. It will not prevent people from putting them in their luggage and on the plane or ferry. We live in a world of no ethics or morals or responsibility. It's a sad truth but it's real. I'm sure no one wants the island to burn to the...

Re: Fireworks

Hi. It would depend on where you would be staying. There is a fireworks display in the harbor and there are individuals who do shoot off their own. We stay about 15 minutes inland and I can honestly say I don't hear many if any. Hope this helps.

Re: seasonal workers

FYI, I know it's not a social media outlet but the mod here is very protective of honesty and facts. There have been several posts removed because people (myself included) had the audacity to speak their minds, bolstered by facts, just to have that post removed because in the mods mod, it hurt his p...

Re: seasonal workers

Good luck with this one. People are tired of working for just about free everywhere in this country, the island is no exception. I'm sure my response will be deleted cause thats what the mod does here. The Bodega was a joke. I'm not blaming the work staff, they were completely overwhelmed. The wait ...

Bike Raffle?

Hello all. Looking around trying to find out who won the E bike at this years raffle. Couldn’t find any results anywhere. Does anyone know who won or have a link to the site that has results? Thanks in advance.

Re: BLIGHT SURVEY

Looking for some clarification on this subject. Number one, does this apply to year round residents only or does it include part time residents as well. Meaning property owners who have summer homes and rentals. Also, is this grant to assist those with blighted properties to remove items that are ve...

Re: Clarify.....Save our Children

How can you still believe in a God that lets priests prey on children? You can't see the forest for the trees. You're blinded by the Bible and your views or not one bit Christian. You are the problem! We are the solution! I will believe in whatever I want to, as can you. The point of my posts are to...

Re: Clarify.....Save our Children

Your original post that has been removed was so hateful and filled with misinformation. You're still using religion (you're religion, remember there's a lot of religions out there) to qualify your hateful thoughts. None of what you said was based in fact, none of it. Here's some facts for you. The R...

Re: Clarify.....Save our Children

Good Lord give it rest will ya. I'm pretty sure Jesus loves all he created, if that's what you want to believe. Keep your religious opinions to yourself. I respect your right to believe whatever you want but you don't respect anyone that differs with you're beliefs.

Re: Antho Vineyard

In regards for the request of furniture and the like, have you tried the resale shop? You could get what you need and help out a cause, it's a win win.
