Al -
All's fine in Key West. It was a big blow with rain but very little damage. The only surge I saw was that of Bloody Marys.
Have you set the date for the next reunion?

Key West is preparing for Isaac while Beaver Island is preparing for another Blitz which may surpass the London Blitz. I think your blitz might be more fun than our hurricane. You wild and crazy Geezers, you :-)

You've got to love it. That's what Beaver Island was when I was there. If you want to do the crime but not do the time, go to Beaver Island. Is it still that way?

Good to know that you can book reservations in advance at the public marina. People will just have to figure it out on their own that reservations can't be booked online thru the DNR like all other public marinas. The Chamber and the Marina might want to indicate reservations are possible but not by...

Thank you Brad for the affirmation. I couldn't find a link or any mention of a reservation system with the Chamber or Marina. How can they say there has been a reservation system for a decade if no one can find it or use it? I'm not saying there isn't one but if there is it is not user friendly. It ...

Good information. I went to the Chamber's site and then over to the Marina's webpage and couldn't find any mention of reservations being available or a means to book them on either site. Did I miss something?
Thank you.

This is not a new problem. Boater friends of mine would jump at going to Beaver Island while on a vacation sail but will not because they can not reserve a space in the public marina. Beaver Island is in a location that if you get there and no slips are available, you are out of luck. The problem is...

You might want to check with Barry Pischner, I think he really has a pickup for sale now, I noticed when I was up last week for music fest.

Music Fest was the best ever.

Scripture According to Michael

I'm not one for scripture quoting and so can not add much to the daily Bible devotionals studies but I do have a question if anyone dares answer it on the forum without creating religious controversy. Is Beans planning a trip to BI this summer and if so, when and where might he perform? CB (CB does ...

Does anyone know the origin of the name,"Circle M"? I know it was the Circle M when I came to the island but then it became the Old Rectory if I am correct.

Does anybody know who and how the decision on a new boat for Beaver Island is made? I would guess that if the boat is paid for by tax payers that there were public hearings to gather input. From here it just seems rather secretive or a lack of interest.

Thank you for posting the notice of the meeting. I hope that anyone interested in a "fast" boat design will be able to attend and voice their thoughts.
Will the meeting accept call ins for public comment? If so, what number and what time?

Bill,
You have caught the attention of a couple of friends who are history buffs. You have them thinking about visiting Beaver Island this summer to escape the heat of the keys. They are also wanting to see the place I refer to them as Paradise in the north.
