Soccer tourney changes

Post by Frank Solle »

The first Northern Lights League post-season tournament has seen some changes occur to its upcoming schedule.

Originally set for a two-day, double-elimination format, the tourney will now be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 only at Sault Ste. Marie.

Action will get underway at 9:00 am for what is now a single-elimination event.

More info will be forthcoming once the pairings are announced.

Along with the Islanders, the other NLL teams include Mackinac Island, Hannahville, Paradise, Grand Marais, Munising Baptist, and Ojibwe Charter School.

The Islanders teams travel to Sault Ste. Marie today (Oct. 5) for soccer and volleyball games today and tomorrow.

The Grand Marais Polar Bears will be here Oct. 19-20 for the final home series of the season. Come on out and support our great athletes.

Thanks Diane.

I checked that post three times, but . . . it just goes to show that good writers have good editors and you're stuck with me.

Yes! Come root for the Islanders against the Polar Bears - Oct. 12 & 13.

Applaud the seniors. Applaud all the players. Applaud the coaches (they work really hard to put such good teams on the pitch/court). Just applaud.

That's Fri. & Sat. Oct. 12 & 13.
