Edward Sramek - R I P

Post by Bob Sramek »

Edward J. "Ed" Sramek, 89, passed away on July 26, 2015 in Central DuPage Hospital. He was born in Chicago on October, 17, 1925 to Joseph and Helen (nee Kohut). Dedicated husband of 62 years to Elizabeth (nee Liss); father of Bob (Ed Max) and Jim (Julie); grandfather of Danielle, Kristen (Ryan) O'Connor and Alissa (Joe Driskell); great-grandfather of Julianna O'Connor and Gracey Driskell; brother-in-law to Ann (the late John) Worobey, the late Irene (late Paul) Gromosiak; uncle to Debs Rawlings & the late John Worobey III.
Ed was a proud former U. S. Marine who served during WW II in the 4th Marine Division. After the Marine Corps, Ed worked as a lithographer in the printing industry for over 30 years. He was a member of the Chicago Graphic Arts Local 458M. His death has taught us all what is truly important in life, family. He lived a very rewarding 89 years filled with numerous challenges and joys. Ed was surrounded by his wife, sons, daughter-in-law, his son's partner, grandkids and great-grandkids in his final days. As sad as it is to say goodbye, it is bittersweet to show the next generation what family is all about. May his stories be passed down for generations to come.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187. Interment will be private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please send greatly appreciated donations to: Alzheimer's Association National Office 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601
