Pete (Big Owen) Phillips RIP

RIP one of my favorite friends and characters I have ever known! Pete Phillips whose grandparents owned the Welke home where the airport is now and was known as Big Owens (Gallagher). We had many interesting conversations historical and humor filled of those that lived there and on this island. Pete used to come here as a young man enjoying time with his elders. He collapsed while doing yard work at his home tonite in Charlevoix and will be missed as one of the true characters and representitive "true slices" of UP NORTH people, if you didn't know him you missed a real "Piece Of Work"!
