Please join volunteers on May 10 from 10-1 p.m. as we work to restore the native vegetation to stabilize the dune area at the site of the new culvert on Iron Ore Creek. The Trail's Committee will be on hand, along with Kelly Martin from the Charlevoix Soil and Conservation District. It's our way of celebrating the region's, "Native Plant Week". Certified native beach grass plugs will be available, freshly picked by Ms. Martin. Bring a small trowel or gloves. Rain day will be May 11. Any further questions, please contact Doug Tilly or Pam Grassmick.

How nice it is to have dedicated environment stewards on Beaver Island and see the great work that is being done there by volunteers. Think globally, act locally.

Thank you to the many individuals and the Trail Committee members who gave of their time and energy to help with the dune restoration project, planting 1000 native beach grass plugs, removed stones from the stream, cleaned the path, and secured the walkways. We had a beautiful day, made some new friendships, and in true Island spirit was a great working team!
