I especially liked Jared's quote. -"To the naked eye, this looks like another slanted piece of garbage, brought about by the left-winged nut jobs, that that need not be named. If you are actually interested in Beaver Island Recreation Plan, the plan should start by not just including the idiots ideas." He really hit the nail on the head. :D :D

Why is it in a set of comments that contain mostly civil suggestions, ideas and thoughts the only comment getting mentioned is the one that sinks to insults and name calling. Cannot we disagree without nastiness?

Folks, lets keep this whole Recreation Plan Survey in perspective. Here is the bottom line of why it was done from what I am told.

In order for the St James township to be able to apply for a grant from the DNR to construct a boat ramp the township must have on file a recreation plan. period. It would have saved a lot of grief if that was written on the top of the survey but it was not.

I personally believe that just listing the current recreational opportunities on the Island makes for a pretty good plan. There are to many to list.

I too believe that trying to combine the "Recreation" plan with invasive species and other environmental issues is a bad mix. Though there may be some environmental issues that could effect recreation they should be brought up and addressed by the dozen or so State, Federal and Local entities that are tasked for it and not added to yet another department of redundancy department.
