Veterans Memorial Park Update

We will be receiving another order of bricks this month for installation at the Memorial Park. Additionally we will be making another order in September for delivery in October. This will be the last order until next summer and this is the last batch where a credit card can be use. The Charlevoix State Bank generously waved the credit card fees for a year and we have to return the machine the end of August.

Our brick count is over 270 and we want to thank all those who purchased bricks and supported the park for your support.

My husband and I just purchased a brick in memory of our son, CWO2 Chris Johnson, killed in Iraq 4 years ago yesterday. We visited the Memorial and want to thank all involved in making it so nice. A great tribute to our soldiers. Fly the flags proudly!

The latest batch of bricks are in and will be installed this Tuesday by the members of Post 46.

We will be placing another order the middle of September for delivery in October and that will be the last order until next summer.

Will there be a ceremony when you dedicate the bricks or how does that work. We would like to be here is it is on Memorial Day next summer. Heard last Memorial Day service was wonderful. mj and cj

We will be finishing up the laying of this batch of bricks on Wednesday. Some of the bricks were damaged in shipment and will be replaced by the brick company. We will install the damaged ones but again they will be replaced with good one.

The installation of this batch of bricks was completed today, stop by if you get a chance and take a look at them. As stated before some were damaged in shipment but will be replaced. Thanks to the installation crew.

For those of you who are not able to come to the Island and view the memorial and for those of you that are unable for other reasons to visit the memorial, there are two videos available to everyone for viewing. One of the videos is when there were approximately 160 bricks and the other one is with the 270 plus bricks. You do not have to be a subscriber to view these videos.
