What cell phone service works here on the Island? We have Verizon and our cells only work when we are on Kings Hywy near the tower. It is frustrating. What about AT&T? What works in town?

AT&T works for us and we're out by Stoney Acres.

Verizon - why?

Thanks. Does anyone know why Verizon has a tower and the service doesn't work? Who could do something about that? Does AT&T work all over the Island and in town?

Take a walk out in the woods and look up! All of those beautiful 100 foot trees that we love so much restrict and sometimes make cell phone service impossible. We could clear cut Beaver Island ( again ) or we will have to put up with the inconvenience of going to a place where the phone works.

If you have high speed internet service, you can buy a booster from Verizon that will give you cell service in the woods at your home.

Thanks.

We'll give it a try or otherwise get AT&T next time.

It is called a network extender and plugs into the wall and is connected to your high speed internet modem with an ethernet cable. Works great!!!

We have T-mobile. They have a roaming arrangement with ATT that gives us good connectivity in the harbor and intermittent connectivity around the island. I think on the East side.

But, the nice deal with T-mobile is my android G2 comes with an app that routes my cells phone calls over wireless wifi when you have good connectivity, like at home. The calls using wifi are still charged to you cell phone contract.
