Fall excursion

Two friends and I plan on bow hunting on the island during late October. We will probably hunt the southern part of the island because I guess thats where the majority of public land is located. We are still looking for lodging if anyone knows of a cabin near the southern part.
Are there any good fishing lakes on the island. Or is there an area around the island would provide decent fishing. I don't care about catching monsters or what we catch as long as we catch something.
If we fish off of the island is there a place that rents boats?
Any other suggestions for something to do during the daytime would be appreciated. I'm sure we will be doing alot of driving to check out the scenery so your input is appreciated.
