* REMINDER Tuesday & Wed. Yoga at BI Community Center

Post by lmt »

Join us this summer at the community center for Yoga with Lisa. Lisa, a certified instructor through the Yoga Alliance Board, will be offering a basics class and gentle vinyasa flow. Yoga's not just for the super flexible, just for those that want to become more flexible.

Periodically due to other events at the community center; always verify the exact yoga times on the Beaver Island Forum and on Community Center Facebook for more details under discussion tab. Email Lisa at beaver_island_yoga@yahoo.com with any questions [there is an underline score_ between beaver_island_ yoga].

Monday [starting July 5th] 9:30-10:45 a.m. Vinyasa

Tuesday [starting June 22] 5:30-6:45 p.m. Gentle Yoga Vinyasa
6/22, 6/29, 7/6 at 5:30 start, thereafter 6:30 p.m. start

Wednesday [starting June 23] 9:30-10:45 a.m. Yoga Basics

Basics: posture fundamentals, emphasis on alignment, flexibility and balance. Perfect for those wanting to practice at a slower pace & getting back into a fitness routine. Ages 16 and over.

Vinyasa:: moving in a sequence of postures with each breath, improving flexibility, endurance, and alignment. Class starts at a slower pace with posture guidance, and then into a slow yoga flow. Ages 16 + with some fitness experience.

Free will donations to support BI Charities.

Mats & blocks are available for use. Yoga is done barefoot [incase you men want to polish your toenails].

Bring: Water, large towel, mat and/or bolster if you have one.
Wear: Comfortable exercise clothes, nothing to baggy.
Expect: Fun & humor among your new & established friends.
Please arrive 10 minutes before class starts.

The practice of yoga dates back to over 5,000 years; take some time for yourself to find out why this tradition has survived for so long.

Summer Yoga Tuesday @ 5:30 p.m. community center

Post by lmt »

Please join us tonight 5:30 at the community center for our first YOGA class. Even though tonight is a Vinyasa flow and fitness experience is helpful; I suspect there will be many of us just checking out this thing called "yoga".

Wednesday: Yoga Basics 9:30 a.m.

Please arrive 10 -15 minutes early- bring water, towel, large towel if you have any hip or knee issues. We will have lots of laughs and get several health benefits at the same time. If anything, you've gotten out of the house for a couple of hours to see some friends...... :D

See the Community Center web site for more details.

so glad there are opportunities like this on the island now! Great for both the mind and body. Taking advantage of the low noise and serenity on the island, outdoor classes might be something to consider! I could use a sunset and some yoga on a Beaver Island morning ..... :)

* New Monday Yoga Class at BI Community Center

Post by lmt »

What a terrific way to start your week... Yoga..... now Monday's at 9:30 a.m. Make time for yourself ~ sweating out tensions & bad toxins with fresh prana [life force] .... breathe

See previous comments for exact details.

Monday @ 9:30 am Vinyasa
Tuesday @ 5:30 pm 'Gentle Vinyasa Yoga'
Wednesday @ 9:30 am 'Yoga Basics'

We have had a great couple of weeks of yoga; both physically and mentally. Don't be shy, we are among friends- and in yoga the only expectation is that you don't have any expectations; bringing a nonjudgemental spirit to your practice.
