Having heard about the renaissance of Beaver Island art, anchorwoman Diana Fairbanks of TV 7 & 4 and cameraman Bob Rhodes came hereâ??a first for them bothâ??in late July to see for themselves and to interview Sue Thompson, Mary Scholl, Skip Duhamel, Pat Boyle, and Cindy Ricksgers, a representative sample of the Island offerings. Skip had to work, saying, â??If you want to interview me, youâ??ll have to climb on the boat.â?￾ So they did, and suddenly found themselves hearing about the spiritual aspect of totem pole carving while Skip lifted his nets at High Island. It seemed the day had just begun when it was time for Diana and Bob to get on the five oâ??clock plane. Knowing there was much more to see, they promised theyâ??d be backâ??and would set aside more than a single day for their next visit.

The gallery pieces air every other Thursday on 7&4 news at 5 (and the following morning on the 6am show.)

The first one will air Thursday August 5th at 5:00 p.m.

The others will air August 19th, September 2nd and September 16th.
