Mary Sharlene Gallagher RIP

Mary Sharlene (Logeman) Gallagher, age 78, of Barbeau, Michigan, died at her home, on April 4, 2024. She was born on February 8, 1946, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Charles and Gilma (Oien) Logeman.

Mary grew up in Northville where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she worked at Ford Motor Company and then moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, in 1975. Mary owned and operated an adult foster home on Riverside Drive for five years. She met Daniel Gallagher at Uncle Danny's Market and soon after they were married. They settled down and raised their family in Barbeau, where they cared deeply for their small community.

Mary was a member of the Holy Family Church in Barbeau.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband Daniel, family, and friends. She liked playing cards, doing puzzles, crafting, bird watching, working in her flowerbeds, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and watching the freighters.

Mary is survived by her husband of 34 years, Daniel; daughters, Amy Logeman of Sault Ste. Marie, Lori (Jeff) Dunham of Florida; son, Dusty Rates of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Becca (Rob), Sam (Austin), Rob (Tasha), Marissa, Jordan (Brad), Brooklynn, and Danny; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Williams; parents, Charles and Gilma Logeman; great-grandson, Braydn; and sisters, Marilyn (Buddy) Bell and Nancy Strickland.

Mary’s final resting place will be the Holy Family Cemetery in Barbeau.

The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 4585 E. 15 Mile Rd, Barbeau, MI 49710. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the Funeral Mass at beginning at 2:00 PM.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the EUP, 308 W. 12th Ave., Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan 49783 and/or Holy Family Catholic Church.
