Islanders welcome and encouraged to join the Community in the Beaver Island Master Plan Update Open House.
Come ask questions and share your input on several important topics towards the Beaver Island 2022 Master Plan Update! Discussion topics include:
1. Cultural & Natural Resources
a. Preservation/Identification
b. Dark Sky
c. UNESCO
d. Outer Islands
2. Economic Development
a. Tourism
i. Branding
ii. Placemaking
iii. Marketing
b. Business Development
3. Accessibility
a. Affordable Housing
b. Healthcare
c. Broadband
4. Built Environment
a. Roads
b. Trails
c. Marina
d. Transportation
5. Sustainability
a. Energy Independence
b. Coastal Resilience
c. Balance Natural Resources with Tourism
6. Land Use Planning
a. Current and Future Land Use
b. Zoning
Both St. James and Peaine Township Planning Commissions will be at the BIC Center next Wednesday, August 17th from 2-6pm to answer questions, share & listen to ideas and provide a Community Survey for residents to fill out.
If you are unable to attend physically, this survey will also be available online at both Townships' webpages.
