The Peaine and St. James Townships Planning Commissions are inviting the public to this one-time event to learn more about marijuana ordinances and ask the public what they think.

Program attendees will:
 Learn about the current state of affairs with Michigan’s three laws governing marijuana as well as new laws around industrial hemp.
 Review the meaning of “opt-in” and “opt-out” in marijuana laws and how they relate to ordinance options in Peaine and St. James Townships.
 Provide input to the Peaine and St. James Townships Planning Commissions as part of a facilitated input session with all attendees.

BUMP-There is no notice of the meeting under the Peaine Township Announcements or Notices. Monday's meeting is a chance for everyone on the island-St. James or Peaine-to get the correct information. I heard some confusing statements at the last Peaine Township Board meeting about whether to opt in or out. Nice to see professionals come to the Island to educate voters/taxpayers before the township boards vote on this issue.
