ST JAMES TOWNSHIP JOB POSTING - DOCK ASSISTANT(s)

St James Township is seeking Dock Assistant(s) for the 2019 Boating Season. The dock assistant will work with the Harbormaster and Harbormaster Assistant to operate the Municipal Dock to meet the standards and rules set by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the St James Township Board. The selected employee will be expected to provide continuous effort to develop a user-friendly Municipal Dock. The Municipal Dock is open from May 15 through October 1. The Dock Assistant(s) will work 30–40 hours per week from mid-June through late August. One of the Dock Assistants will work beginning in late May or early June.

DOCK ASSISTANT:
• Duties: Assist Harbormaster in managing all operations of the Municipal Dock. Assist Harbormaster in implementation and maintenance of MDNR Reservation System.

• Expected Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week per week from mid-June to late August.
• Pay Range: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour.
• Preferred Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent; college preferred. Possess a minimum of one (1) year of related experience in resort environment, working familiarity with boating, and computer experience specifically in reservation system.
