Labor Day Weekend on WVBI

Post by WVBI »

It's the last big weekend of Summer 2017 and your soundtrack for it is on WVBI.

Tune in this morning at 10 for a special Back to School edition of WVBI's Top Ten + Five. Niles Devers & Emily Boyle will countdown the top 15 back to school songs based on a highly scientific survey of all the folks at the Paradise Bay Coffee Shop. Then, the Cottage Mix runs through your day until 5:00 this evening when Sheri Timsak takes to the air with great country music and the back stories of the songs on Country Classics. At 7:00, Titus Jennings is on with the Retro album Chart show (this week with charts from this week in 1971 and 2011). Listen to it on your way in to hear The Outside Track at the BIC Center. Then for your drive home , Captain Mark Beltaire takes command at 9:00 to deliver a special Labor Edition of Rockin' the Boat. Overnight, it's the Jazz Night Watch.

Sunday morning kicks off with our information programs (Worldlink at 6am, World in Progress at 7am, World in Progress at 7:30 and Interfaith Voices at 8:00). The Sunday Morning Cottage Mix runs from 9am to 1pm with light jazz, soul and jazzy pop for your Sunday morning. At 1pm it's time for classical with What's New.

At 5:00pm Phil Becker will be on the air from the swimming beach with a special End of Season Party dance edition of Sunday Night Oldies. Stop by to see Phil playing the platters that matter and get your request in. Phil's show will go the extra mile with an extra hour of music. Then at 8pm, The International Americana Music Show is on followed at 9pm by jazz and blues on Full Moon Hacksaw.

It's a great weekend of music and more all on WVBI. And, remember, even if you leave Beaver Island you don't have to leave it behind. Keep in touch while you are away with www.wvbi.net.

Listen at 100.1 FM on the island and worldwide on www.wvbi.net.
