We just got out of a meeting with the Radiologist. His recommendation was to administer a massive dose of radiation tomorrow. He feels that it is best for him to have one very large dose of radiation rather than several smaller ones. This will not eradicate his cancer. We all know that. The doctors have made that part very clear. What it will do though, is allow him some significant relief from the tumor. It will also allow us to bring him home comfortably. With any luck (and all of your prayers) this dose of Radiation will stall the growth of the tumor. The thought is that he may, in the future, need to continue on with the radiation in Petoskey. Another option is that he come back down here in a month or two and have another massive dose of the same radiation.
Dad is still having trouble with this creatin levels as well as his calcium levels. It will, in all liklihood, be several days before he is released from the hospital...but make no mistake...we are bringing him home....
We are all thrilled. We now have hope. Thank you one and all!
