The school year is winding down and with it the Islander News reports on WVBI. You won't want to miss them as they are featuring profiles on each of the five graduating seniors. Listen every day this week after our global news in the mornings from 6:00 to 8:00, at noon, 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you do miss the reports, you'll find them online in our Podcasts. Point you browser at http://wvbi.biccenter.org/podcasts.

We thank Cam Bartlett and Nick Kenwabikise for their outstanding work producing Islander News each school day during this school year. You can join us in celebrating their work by stopping by Beaver Island Community School today from 3:15 to 5:00 for their Open House. All students will have displays on their work and accomplishments over the year.

Among Cam Bartlett's work was participation on the school's robotics team. He along with fellow senior Simeon Richards as well as Sun Kuntaro, Kai Drost, Erin Wiser, McKenna Turner and Gage Anderson learned Python and built a robot they competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition at two district events and the State Championships. The team produced a special edition of WVBI's Top Ten + Five countdown covering the top songs heard on the sidelines of these competitions as well as explaining what FIRST is all about. You can hear it this evening at 7:00 p.m. right here on WVBI.

Listen on the island at 100.1 FM and worldwide at www.wvbi.net.
