Rosie Boyle, daughter of Owen and Marie Boyle gave birth to Owen Lee yesterday afternoon at 3:11 p.m. He weighs 6 pounds, 14 ounces and is a little over 19 inches long.

Early in Rosieâ??s pregnancy it was discovered that the baby has a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (a hole in the diaphragm). About a month ago his stomach was through the hernia and sitting on the left side of his chest where is heart would normally be. This caused his heart to be pushed toward the ride side of his chest.

The concern is how is lungs will function. He was put on a ventilator immediately following his birth and is being assessed.

Baby Owen passed away last night.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Boyle family at this time of sorrow.

Although plans are still in progress, the following details have been made:

Visitation for Owen Lee Yetter will be this Thursday, May 1st from 6 to 8 pm at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 6th Street, Traverse City.

His funeral will be on Friday, May 2nd at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 630 S. West Silver Lake Road, Traverse City. Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, 3575 Veterans Drive, Traverse City.
