Notice is hereby given that Beaver Island Community School will receive sealed bids for addition and remodeling work. Any questions regarding these projects can be addressed to

This project will be constructed under a general contract with bids received on a lump sum basis.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from Traverse Reproduction and Supply, Telephone (231) 947-6284.No partial sets will be issued.
Pre-Bid walk-thru will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Beaver Island Community School to review the project and answer questions. Attendance MANDATORY for General Contractors and strongly suggested for subcontractors.
Bid Requirements
No bidder may withdraw bid within 90 days after opening thereof. Bidders shall furnish a 5% Bid Bond (or Certified Check), made payable to: Beaver Island Community School. Bond shall Accompany sealed proposal.
Success bidder(s) shall be required to furnish 100% Labor and Material Bond and 100% Performance Bond.
Prevailing wages are required for this project.
Right to Reject Bids
As required by State Law (P.A. 232 of 2004), all proposals/bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the
Owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Beaver Island Community School's Board or the Superintendent of the School District. The Board will not accept a bid that does not include this sworn and notarized statement.
Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any and all bids, or to award any Contract to other than the low bidder, should it be deemed in his best interest to do so.
