Free trees from the Beaver Island Wildlife club

Post by jacquel »

Trees will be available at Levi’s wood shed on Paid Een Ogs Road, Sunday morning April 28th at 9 a.m. First come, first served, no trees will be saved and they must get planted, preferably on Sunday or Monday.

We ordered Black Cherry, American Chestnut, American Hazelnut, High bush cranberry, elderberry, serviceberry, and Honeycrisp Apples.

Most trees need a lot of room between them (30’-60’ for some of them). Please read the planting instructions and take only what you have room to plant. Most also need a partner to pollinate so take at least two.

While the trees are free, we would gladly accept donations so that the program can continue.

Update… the chestnuts will be available at 9 am on Sunday at Levi’s shed. The rest of the trees and shrubs are supposed to be on a mid morning flight. We will get them to the shed as soon as possible.
Bottom line….chestnuts at 9 others later in the morning.
