Re: George "Satch" Wierenga RIP
Used to frequent the island next door to Satch. The battery in the island car would be dead by spring ever year and the first thing we always did was walk to Satch's place to borrow the battery charger. Had some good laughs. Pour one out for Satch. RIP.

Re: George "Satch" Wierenga RIP
My wife, Carol, and I were friends with Carol and Satch, going back 55 years for Carol.
Through them we were introduced to the island about 27 years ago and became neighbors when we bought a condo a few doors from them.
Satch came down with viral pneumonia and died peacefully on October 23, 2023 at Munson Hospital.
His daughter Karen was with him the last few days and by his side when he passed.
No memorial service is planned for the near future for Satch.
The family would like to wait for late spring or early summer so that seasonal friends could be present.
It's hoped that the service would be at BI Christian Church with a gathering (luncheon?) afterward at Gregg Fellowship Center.
Further details will be posted next spring as plans are finalized.
Cards of condolence can be sent to his children:
Kevin and Laurie Wierenga, 1880 Milford NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
Jim and Karen Fletcher, 2698 Kitchener St SW, Wyoming, MI 49519
