Post by Beaver Island COA »

Hello friends,

Why do comedians love eggs? The answer follows this Charlevoix County Commission on Aging on Beaver Island complimentary Veterans lunch announcement.

The Charlevoix County Commission on Aging office on Beaver Island is seeking volunteers between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Beaver Island Community Center. We need volunteers for meal prep, serving, sign people in and clean up. Please call 231-448-2124 to volunteer.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, at the Beaver Island Community Center, the Charlevoix County Veterans Affairs office will be on hand to meet with veterans of any age beginning at 11:30 a.m. and on that same day from Noon to 1 p.m. there will be a complimentary lunch served to all veterans who stop by. The meal includes grilled hamburgers, sides, condiments, and beverages. The picnic lunch is also available for all Commission on Aging clients. Clients ages 60 and older pay $3. All people ages 59 and younger pay $8 per person. All are welcome to come and visit with friends, veterans, and volunteers as the COA honors veterans and C.O.A clients with a picnic lunch.
REMEMBER LUNCH IS SERVED from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8.

The Beaver Island Community Center offers complimentary coffee and donuts from 8-10 a.m. each Friday. A generous donor has made this possible and will be available if we continue to see support from our seniors and donors. Thank you again BIC Center staff.
