BEAVER ISLAND MUNICIPAL MARINA NORTH AND SOUTH
SEASONAL DOCK ASSISTANTS

Dock Assistant(s): The dock assistant will work with the Harbormaster to operate the Municipal Dock to meet the standards and rules set by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the St James Township Board. The selected employee(s) will be expected to provide continuous effort to develop a user-friendly marina. The Dock Assistant(s) will work 30–40 hours per week from mid-June through late August. Pay Range is $15 - $19/hour. The township is seeking two dock assistants. Immediate deadline is 5:00pm on May 15, 2021. Posting will remain open until positions are filled.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Working familiarity with boating.
• Working familiarity with computer systems, specifically reservations and sales.
• Able to work outdoors in all types of summer weather.
• Willingness to perform assigned tasks.
• Interpersonal skills and able to interact with people of all ages.
• Positive attitude and ability to project a courteous and positive public image of Beaver Island and St. James Township.

Preferred Qualifications
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one (1) year of work experience.
