Post by Gillespie »

Well, I didn't do so hot on my first video post to youtube but the images however distorted of the icebreaker and the Emerald Isle coming in are there if you want to take a look.

That would be awsome with sound!! Ice crunching...That your harbor cam? Has a nice zoom.. looks like the lake ice has melted? Just the harbor frozen now? Looks like the Emerald Isle is parked until a breaker returns..

blurred images from compression

Post by TjD »

The blurred or pixilated video is from compression of the file when you upload. It always happens to me when I upload from the island. I always assumed it was due to dial-up or my ISP. It might be your ISP or it could be the telco transmission off the island.

It would be great if someone with the new DSL would upload a video & see if it gets compressed.

It's Youtube

You're compression problem made me look into the issue farther, according to this blogger http://blogs.chron.com/makingmovies/arc ... d_the.html

its how youtube handles the video. If you or anyone finds a solution please pass it on.

not the video quality

Post by Kevin Green »

I assumed that the quality of the video was direct linkage to the fact that the video was shot from inside the Shamrock! Any thoughts on that Rich!! :D

I wish I was there, all of the pics were very cool. Will get the first hand report from Mike this weekend!

Hey Gillespie,

How big is your video and what are its attributes (i.e., format, codec, compression level, etc.)?

Thanks

Doug
