Dear BIATA Members and Friends,
The BIATA Board has scheduled a general membership meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 at Peaine Twp. Hall. This meeting is open to the public, and we encourage any parties interested in the status of island trails to attend.
The Board has spent some time working in consultation with the DNR to develop a long range plan for the maintenance and improvement of island trails. We will also be discussing any changes proposed by the DNR of ORV Trails on the island. A pdf map may be found at: https://mail.tds.net/service/home/~/?au ... 453&part=2
We have also scheduled a trails work day to install signs for our new Waterways Trail on Saturday July 28 at 9:00 a.m. Please meet at the Happy Paddles shop next to McDonough's Market. Instructions and waivers will be provided at that time. Please bring a shovel. We will divide into teams that will travel to designated sites. Also, be sure to bring drinking water with you.
Many thanks to all of you that worked in June on the St. James Township Park trail and steps to the beach for Waterways Trail Access. It looks great!
