Rev. Herbert Graf-RIP

Post by Gillespie »

Word was just received of the passing of Father Herbert Graf, Catholic pastor on the island in the early to late 70's. Details are not too well known but he had been doctoring and had several strokes. He was an ambitious fellow who did much to improve the church buildings and grounds. He built the lawn in front of the rectory and convent with a lot of elbow grease and volunteer help. RIP

Father Herbert

Post by debrob2 »

One of my fondest childhood memories was riding in the wagon behind Father Herbert's lawn tractor as he mowed the rectory lawn...

Anyone else remember how he used to introduce himself..."Father Herbert...as in Sherbet...only twice as cool...."

RIP Father Graff...
