kittens, anyone?

Post by cindyr »

Chris and Gordie Heikka found five little kittens in their yard recently. Karla Martin took them in. Jeff Powers helped out with worm medicine and other necessities. Nate and Karla plan to keep one kitten; that leaves two males and two females up for adoption. If you can provide a home to one or more of these babies, the Animal Fund can cover the cost of first shots, and spay or neuter.
Any time the Animal Fund is assisting, be sure to make Jeff aware that the Animal Fund will be billed for this when you schedule the appointment.
If you're interested in opening your home to one of these kittens, Karla can be reached at 448-3193.

Thanks Cindy for helping animals by providing the fund and Jeff for his services.

Thanks, but all I do is write the checks.
This very worthwhile cause was the idea of Adam Wirth who has supported it and kept it going from the start. It has been funded completely by donations. Special projects to raise money have been devised and implemented by Andi Kohls, Larry Forth and others in the community. Dr. Powers has generously adjusted his rates to make every Animal Fund dollar go farther.
Through the years, we have helped with the cost of dozens of spay or neuter procedures (our primary objective), immunizations, blood work and tests, special food, emergency surgery and euthanasia. We have no administrative costs; every dollar goes to help island animals. Our donation boxes are in several locations around the island including both airport buildings and the hardware store. Donations are always appreciated.
