Our "Rainwise MK III" shows 100ths of inches. Nice system. We recorded .40 rain. For the month of July we recorded a total of 1.40 rainfall. More rain please.

Ha! Funny!! I didn't realize that my weather station was showing off!! It is a Davis Weather Station, and yes it measures in hundreths. And I believe it to be accurate!

Here's a trick I learned sailing the Caribbean if you don't have a rain gauge. Take an empty 12 oz. beer bottle, place it on a flat surface, collect the rain water being measured. To measure, put a stopper in the mouth of the bottle, flip it over, measure the water in the neck with a ruler, times that figure by 2 and that is the rain fall.
It is also a great reason to drink beer if you think it might rain.
