CMU holds a class here on Beaver Island titled Service Learning on Beaver Island. 20 plus students perform service on the Island at the Christian Church, Beaver Island Community Center, etc. The students were extremely willing workers, courteous, and industrious. In other words they certainly made a difference. My sincere thanks to CMU, the instructors, and expecially the students. Your efforts were certainly appreciated and certainly made a difference.

The Service Learning Honors group is awesome. Glen LaFreniere had the camp sites looking great but the dunes with the federally endangered Pitcher's thistle were damaged from multiple illegal fire pits, broken glass, and burned garbage. They went to work on the dunes and now those ugly sites are gone and will add a more pristine look to our beautiful dunes and shorelines. Hats off to these young students-a real tribute to CMU.

The Beaver Island Christian Church enjoyed having 5 of these very intelligent students willing to get dirty weeding our gardens. Thanks so much!
