The animal fund is extremely short of funds this winter, compared to past years. We are still helping however and whenever we can. If you need assistance to pay for spaying or neutering your pet, please be sure (1) to talk to us ahead of time, (2) that the Animal Fund is mentioned on the appointment schedule and (3) that Dr. Powers is made aware before the surgery that the Animal Fund will be involved.
Dr. Powers often reduces his rates to help us stretch our donations further. His rates are already below the Michigan average, so this is a tremendously generous gesture on his part. We want to at least keep his paperwork to a minimum. Also, please be sure to let him know how much it is appreciated.
Please expect, in most cases, to be asked to pay at least a part of the bill. It's hard to say "no" to anyone, and we don't want to find ourselves in that position.
Lastly, my sincere thanks to everyone who has so generously donated to our fund. We continue doing good work with zero overhead, zero operating costs, and funding coming only from the generosity of goodhearted animal lovers.
