I received the following letter from the BI Chamber of Commerce\

Dear Ms. Resnik,
The Chamber of Commerce directors were saddeened to learn from a local web forum that you will be unable to attend this year's Bite of Beaver Island event. Apparently the October 8 date is the same as Yom Kippur.
The directors are sorry that you will not be able to attend this year and hope you will continue to do so in the future. We are hopeful that any future conflicts can be avoided or will be few and far between.
