The best time to view the Perseids, or most other meteor showers is when the sky is the darkest. Most astronomers suggest that depending on the Moonâ??s phase, the best time to view meteor showers is right before dawn.

FYI...They said on the news there are solar flares therefore there is a good possibility of seeing Northern Lights tonight.

It is an interesting sequence to look at kcboyle's Webcam for the monthly view and watch the snow disappear.

Just a thought...The West Side web cam should be added to the Chamber's visitor page with the other island web cams. I enjoy looking at all of them.

Thanks for putting this together again this year. It was fun to see everyone that made their way down to the point to share all of the unique and vintage vehicles/boats/snowmobiles.
