Yum, Yum, Yum and Home on the Island Tonight

WVBI invites you to the Community Center this evening to see two great short films. First, "Yum, Yum, Yum," directed by Les Blank, an award-winning independent filmmaker, offers a window into Louisiana Cajun culture, told by famous musicians who talk about their lives while they cook their distinctive, delicious foods. The film shows how oral histories are woven together to tell a fascinating story.

The second film will be familiar to some. "Home on the Island" is a short film produced by Moondance Productions that tells the story of the Irish emigration from Ã￾rainn Mhór Donegal to Beaver Island through the voices of their descendants and the recent twinning and reunion of Beaver and Monday evening (the 4th), at 7 pm, everyone's invited to the Community Center to see two short films that show how oral histories can be woven together into a compelling story.
